RoHS3
RoHS3 is Directive (EU) 2015/863 which amends RoHS2 that was adopted by the European Council in 2011. RoHS3 adds four new restricted substances - all phthalates. The four phthalates are mainly used as insulation plasticizers, and are on the REACH list of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern).
SVHC
Garland Technology’s network TAPs and other products do not contain Substances of Very High Concern.
REACH
REACH took effect on June 1, 2007, and is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. It requires the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of CHemical substances. REACH protects human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of relevant chemical substances. REACH also encourages innovation and competition among businesses to improve safety.
WEEE
The European WEEE Directive puts specific responsibilities on companies to handle Waste of Electronics and Electrical Equipment. The major goal is to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment, as well as improve the environmental performance of those involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic products. The WEEE Directive covers both consumers and professional organizations. It affects those involved in manufacturing, selling, distributing, recycling, and treating of electrical and electronic equipment.
NOM
Normas Oficiales Mexicanas (NOMs), are legal enforcement documents regulating products, processes, or services that may constitute a safety or health risk for people, animals, plants, or the environment in general.
